A warm and windy Friday

Today has continues the warming trend across the state. Tomorrow will reach the peak high temperatures for the week.

A high pressure has continues to stretch over the Rocky Mountains this afternoon. The result is sinking air over the state of New Mexico. When you sink air it heats up. This has led to New Mexico seeing warmer temperatures today compared to yesterday. But this warming trend isn’t over just yet.

An upper level disturbance will move overtop New Mexico late tonight and very early Friday morning. This disturbance will bring a band of light rain and snow to western New Mexico. The precipitation will mainly be falling in the Gila. Throughout the very early morning on Friday the rain and snow will move northeast into Central New Mexico. Areas across central New Mexico including the Albuquerque Metro have a chance of seeing snow flurries in the morning hours of Friday…
