Colder air arrives Tuesday

Another storm clips New Mexico Tuesday, bringing more wind and colder temperatures. Our weather will start a warming trend Wednesday.

The last of the rain and mountain snow moved out of New Mexico Monday morning, dropping as much as a foot of snow across the peaks of the Sacramento Mountains and over 1″ of rain in eastern New Mexico. Windier weather moved in after this storm, with wind gusts over 40 mph across parts of the state. Temperatures are a little warmer across the state today too, but that will be changing Tuesday.

Another storm will clip northeast New Mexico Tuesday afternoon. This will bring back breezy to locally windy conditions once again, but the biggest impact will be the colder air it will draw down. High temperatures Tuesday will sit around 10° below average across the state. This storm won’t bring much in terms of moisture, in fact the only place that could squeeze any moisture out of this storm will be a few flurries across the peaks of the northern mountains. Winds die down Tuesday night, but some of the coldest air of the season moves in to start the day Wednesday…
