GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A bicyclist who was hit and killed in downtown Grand Rapids Saturday evening was a longtime stagehand who worked big events at venues like Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place.
Steve Dowhan, 53 of Walker, had just finished breaking down the Bridal Show at the convention center and was riding his bicycle on Pearl Street NW around 6:35 p.m. Saturday.
An eyewitness told News 8 she had visited the World of Winter at Ah-Nab-Awen Park and was walking west on Pearl when she spotted a vehicle “flying” off the US-131 north exit ramp, which turns into Scribner Ave NW.
