‘Heartwarming’: Michigan community lays 3,200 wreaths to honor veterans

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids community laid thousands of wreaths to honor veterans Saturday, joining communities across the country and beyond on National Wreaths Across America Day.

Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids held the ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

“It’s really humbling to be part of this community here in West Michigan and the way that they show up and show out to honor those men and women who have worn the uniform,” said Ryan Engle, director of development and strategic engagement for MVH.
