Big Lots to Close 48 More Florida Stores, Including All South Florida Locations

It’s the end of an era for Big Lots shoppers in Florida. The struggling retailer is shutting down48 locations in the state, including the last four in South Florida, as part of a major selloff by its new owner, Gordon Brothers. This means no more Big Lots in Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, or Pembroke Pines, with offers on these locations due by Friday.

What’s Happening to Big Lots?

Big Lots, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has been struggling to stay afloat. Earlier this month, Gordon Brothers acquired the retailer and announced plans to sell over 500 stores nationwide. That’s more than half of Big Lots’ current 901 stores.
