Local restaurants see Christmas day rush

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Wednesday was a busy day for restaurants that opened their doors on Christmas.

Over in West Springfield, Cal’s Wood-fired Grill and Bar has been open for 34 years. There, the executive chef shares that this is an extremely busy day for them.

Many people dined in on Wednesday and made their reservation for next Christmas. They offered a limited menu, including chicken, steak, and seafood. “I haven’t had any Christmas with the family which is good you know because I chose this career and I like to please the customers,” says Executive Chef Jaime Diaz.

Diaz is thankful for his staff, who show up on Christmas day ready to make sure everyone who stops by is welcome and served a great meal…
