Moped rider Joe Koa’s grieving family pleads for change on Oahu’s roadways

HONOLULU (Island News) — “That’s my youngest of my babies,” said Peggy Koa. “I’m not supposed to bury him. They supposed to bury me.”

Peggy Koa can’t imagine life without her youngest child Joe, the moped rider killed after being broadsided by a driver right before Thanksgiving.

“My grandchildren, five of them, they lost their father,” she said. “Just the other night when I was talking to my granddaughter she was like ‘Grandma, when is daddy coming? When is daddy coming home?'”
