A 48 FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY is in effect today for isolated travel impacts due to lingering snow flurries through the afternoon. A localized dusting will be possible for higher elevations, but accumulations will generally be less than half an inch for most areas. With temperatures staying near freezing, slick spots could develop on roadways by the evening. Expect gradually clearing skies overnight and winds will remain breezy with occasional gusts between 15 and 20 miles per hour. Temperatures will quickly plunge into the single digits by Monday morning with wind chills near and below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory and Extreme Cold Warning is already in place for North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee through Monday afternoon.
