What a Scary Sight!  Conroe Noon Lions Club members participated in a Monster Mash program during their weekly luncheon last week. Random items were issued to decorate a ‘monster’ and develop a scary tale with information from each member at their table . (cc phototx/Photo courtesy the Conroe Noon Lions Club)

MONSTER MASH changeup fun was had this week!  Each Lion was directed to sit at either a Monster, Ghost, Pumpkin or Bat table and await instructions for creating a unique monster story.  But before the creativity and competition began, Lions were given updates about recent projects, and heads ‘up info for upcoming events!

A big CONGRATULATIONS to Lions Andrew Garay and Pablo Sanchez, two of our newest members recognized at our Wednesday luncheon meeting – Welcome to the Pride!  Recognition was also given to members honored as Monarch Chevrons for years of service who weren’t able to attend last week’s meeting.  Those honored for with anniversaries during the 2023-2024 Lions year include Lorena Garcia – 10 years, Carl Rushing, Warner Phelps and James Boyd – 15 years, Anne Hoffman and George Waggoner – 30 years, and Jerry Lund – 45 years.  These along with others represent 675 years of Lionism – Amazing!  The Conroe Noon Lions Club’s 2024-2025 Hometown Military Hero was announced!  It was a difficult decision to choose 1 honoree from 8 fantastic applicants.  Drum Roll please…the winner is USMC Sargeant, Avery Kilgo!  Avery, a graduate of Willis High School, is currently stationed in Hawaii and is deploying in 6 months.  Avery’s dad, Evan Kilgo, represented Avery in accepting the award as one proud Papa!

Vision what Lions are all about!  Thank you to those who gave their time at the VFW vision screening during their annual Trunk or Treat.  Our annual fall Preschool Vision Screenings continue through November 13th at various locations from 9 to 11 am.
