The Rotary Club of Conroe hosted a successful fund-raising event last Tuesday evening under the beautiful Texas skies at The Table at Madeley. This event venue features live concerts with a food truck court providing a wide variety of foods. The Rotary event titled Spirits of Texas features Texas wines and Texas Beers during the Halloween season, hence the name.

A bountiful supply of wines and meads from B. E. Winery, Bernhardt Winery, Messina Hof Winery, and The Ferm Meadery provided a wide assortment of wines from the classic styles to easy sipping white wines to the sweeter wines for all of the wine lovers. Beers from Fass Brewing and Southern Star Brewery provided an assorted of beers for the discriminating beer drinkers. Live country music emanated from the Woodforest Stage to provide patrons with great music to pair with the Texas motif. Frank Jackson owns The Table at Madeley and was the perfect host for such a great fund raiser. Funds raised at this event will be used by Rotarians in support of youth in the Conroe area.

The Rotary Club of Lake Conroe has traditionally provided hundreds of pounds of hard candy rolls to those unfortunate kids in Mexico who have no Christmas presents Toilet paper rolls are accumulated over the 12 months which are filled with hard candies and then wrapped in bright festive papers to provide a special sweet treat to children who would normally get nothing at Christmas in these poverty areas. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to help out those with nothing. This Christmas celebration is getting bigger each year so the Rotary Club of Conroe has moved it noon Tuesday meeting at Honor Cafe to the noon Meeting of the Rotary Club of Lake Conroe on November 5th. Rotary fellowship working together provides a great opportunity to solidify friendship between Rotarians of these two Clubs. Please come join these Rotarians at Café Amore on S. H. 105 on the south shores of Lake Conroe. The Rotary Club of Lake Conroe was sponsored and chartered by the Rotary Club of Conroe…
