Another day of split temperatures across the Sunflower State. Highs range from the 70s in northwest Kansas to the 50s in central Kansas. Both Goodland and McCook set new record high temperatures for today.
Increasing clouds overnight will help keep temperatures in the 20s and 30s across the state. Southcentral Kansas will see a few overnight lows in the 40s as winds stay out of the south, eventually becoming northerly tomorrow.
Temperatures tomorrow will settle into the low 50s. Cloud cover will stick around for the next few days with winds remaining light.
A weak boundary will try to squeeze out a few showers across southern Kansas on Monday night. Rain will be hit or miss with moisture clearing out by Tuesday morning.
A few spotty showers will hang around southeastern Kansas early on Christmas Eve, but we all dry out by the late morning with clouds lingering. Christmas Day will be a rinse and repeat of Christmas Eve with temperatures in the low 50s and thick clouds overhead.
Our next piece of energy will arrive late Wednesday night into Thursday. A passing low-pressure system will track through the Sunflower State. Rain chance will be widespread through the morning and track east with the low into the evening.
Temperatures remain above average into the weekend and through the rest of 2024. We are trending into the upper 50s on Sunday and staying toasty through New Year’s Eve next Tuesday.
