Alt rock newcomers Dexter and the Moonrocks stopped at the HiFi Annex on Saturday night. We caught up with them before the show to learn more about these up-and-coming musicians. The band consists of singer James Tuffs, drummer Ryan Fox, and cousins Ryan (guitars) and Ty Anderson (bass). Although Abilene is listed as their hometown, it’s only because it’s the closest city. They actually hail from small towns around Throckmorton, Texas. Tuffs and the Andersons have been friends since 8th grade, and drummer Fox joined later. Their first EP, Dexter and the Moonrocks, was mixed in their basement in 2021 and remained relatively unknown.
