Tyrese Haliburton and Caitlin Clark’s friendship means more than a social media post or a PR stunt symbolizing unity between the NBA and WNBA. Haliburton and Clark have a common bond as star players for their small-market franchises. The Indiana Pacers All-NBA guard recently discussed the origins of their relationship and how it transcends basketball.
“I grew pretty close with Connor McCaffery,” Haliburton said. “I’ve grown to be pretty close with Caitlin and him,” Haliburton revealed during media day. “Me, her, him, and my girlfriend, Jade, all have a group chat that we talk pretty often. It’s been cool to grow a friendship with her. … We’re friends. We have a pretty cool friendship alongside Connor.”
McCaffery recently became an assistant coach for the NCAA’s Butler Bulldogs. However, before working for the prestigious Midwestern program, McCaffery held multiple positions within the Pacers’ organization, most recently as the basketball development coordinator for the 2023-24 season.
