The City-County Council’s public criticism of Indianapolis’ still-ice-covered streets reflects a healthy and long-overdue separation between the council and Mayor Joe Hogsett’s administration.
Several councilors say the city’s response to the Jan. 5 snowstorm was inadequate. They’re right. It’s the city’s job to remove snow. The city opted not to do that job on most neighborhood streets, citing a years-old policy , and now residential streets are still dangerous.
