SHAFTER, Calif. (KGET) — California’s ongoing High Speed Rail project will begin rail line construction in the coming months, Gov. Gavin Newsom said as he visited Kern County on Monday.
Newsom made the announcement on Monday where those first tracks will be laid down.
Plans call for the project to run through the city of Bakersfield with a station at F Street. Newsom said construction is set to begin this spring.
