Carolina’s upset bid comes up just short against No. 2 Auburn

On Saturday afternoon in Colonial Life Arena, South Carolina’s upset bid over No. 2 Auburn came up just short as it fell by a score of 66-63. With the loss, the Gamecocks fall to 10-6 overall and 0-3 in SEC play.

Against the Tigers, the Gamecocks were led by Collin Murray-Boyles who scored 25 points and pulled seven rebounds. Arden Conyers and Nick Pringle were also in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Late in the second half, the Gamecocks had multiple chances to pull off the upset. However, after a Zachary Davis layup gave South Carolina a one-point lead at 63-62, the Gamecocks went on a 5:18 scoring drought to end the game as the Tigers did just enough to escape Columbia with a win…
