More than 400 local Amazon employees to be displaced by construction at Findlay Township facility

More than 400 people will be displaced from their current roles Amazon upgrades a local warehouse.

An Amazon spokesperson tells Channel 11 that the company is spending $20 million to upgrade its Findlay Township sorting center over the next six to eight months. The work focuses on installing new package sorting equipment that should reduce customer costs and support faster delivery. It should be wrapped up before the 2025 holiday season.

Due to this construction, Amazon says 432 workers will be displaced starting on March 12. The 237 permanent employees will be able to transfer to another facility — there are eight in total in and around Pittsburgh. If those employees choose not to stay with Amazon, the company will help with job assistance and is offering a severance package…
