Chemung County rabies clinics coming up, registration open

CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Pet owners can now register for one of Chemung County’s upcoming rabies clinics.

The Chemung County Department of Health is holding one rabies vaccination clinic in Van Etten and one in Elmira at the beginning of October. All New York State residents are welcome to get their cats, dogs, and ferrets vaccinated for free at one of these events, but they must register in advance.

The Van Etten clinic will take place at Banfield Square Park, located at 6 Gee St., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, and pet owners interested in attending can register using this link . The Elmira clinic will be at the Economic Opportunity Program (EOP), located at 650 Baldwin St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.
