Local non-profit organization Southern Tier Land Conservancy (STLC) recently announced its first land conservation achievement following its acquisition of a portion of the Canawanna Nature Preserve in Owego.
The STLC will work with Owego Rotary to keep the preserve natural and continue to provide public hiking trails and education spaces.
Despite running it for decades, Owego Rotary didn’t own the land and ran the fear of potentially losing parts of the preserve due to other owners selling. The partnership with STLC will help keep the preserve natural and work together to provide trails and educational facilities…
