STARKVILLE, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Mississippi State University (MSU) is home to nearly 850 international students from more than 80 countries.
While most students are gearing up to head home for the holidays, many international students are preparing to spend their break in Mississippi.
Ole Miss students concerned about high rent prices in Oxford
Wehinmi Kanyi said he’s thankful that MSU’s International Services hosts events for students to get a taste of several different holiday traditions.
“Here, you do a lot of gift-giving. It’s not something that I’m used to, but it’s not bad. You know, you’re still spending time with family. It’s kind of like a home away from home. We all just try to get together, host events, cook traditional foods,” Kanyi said.
