Jackson City Council hires firm to oversee $28M in bond work. Will your street get repaved?

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Jackson is one step closer to spending some $30 million in infrastructure bond funds, following a vote by the City Council.

On Tuesday, the council approved a $2.1 million program management contract with IMS Engineers, to identify, design, and oversee the construction of projects funded by the proceeds of a $40 million bond issue.

The firm will oversee some $28.3 million in infrastructure improvement projects, with the vast majority going to drainage ($15.2 million), and the remaining going toward road resurfacing ($9.9 million), bridge clearing ($2.8 million), and other miscellaneous repairs ($349,000)…
