Mississippi Public Service Commission hosts summit on future of nuclear power in the state

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Mississippi Public Service Commissioners want to see more nuclear power being generated in the state and they held a summit Tuesday to discuss what it will take.

”This is the most important conversation in the state of Mississippi today,” said Central District Mississippi Public Service Commissioner De’Keither Stamps. “What we’re doing right here, right now, because if we’re going to compete, nuclear is the backbone to the competition.”

You probably don’t think about how our electricity is being generated. But that’s their job at Entergy Mississippi. And a lot of that electricity is being produced at Grand Gulf power Nuclear in Port Gibson…
