Thalia Mara Hall renovations surpass $1M, records show

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – With less than three weeks to go before it’s expected to reopen, Jackson city officials have spent more than $1 million to restore Thalia Mara Hall.

Documents obtained by WLBT show that the city has paid five companies more than a million to help restore the 2,000-seat municipal auditorium, months after the facility was shut down due to mold growth there.

The amount includes nearly $933,000 in charges from Guarantee Restoration Services for mold growth remediation. The first invoice, dated for November 6, was for $586,490, and included charges for equipment mobilization and setup, set containment, and basement mitigation…
