Oct. 7 hostages and victims with ties to the New Jersey region

Among the 1,500 people killed or taken hostage in the Oct. 7, 2023 terror attack in Israel are several with ties to New Jersey and New York:

Lior Abramov

Abramov, 20, of Hopewell, New Jersey, was killed on Oct. 7. Lior moved to Israel hoping to become a successful DJ. He was at the Nova Music Festival in southern Israel, where Hamas attackers killed an estimated 360 people and wounded scores more. His parents last heard from him when he was seeking safety in a bomb shelter.

Edan Alexander

Alexander, 20, of Tenafly, was abducted by Hamas on Oct. 7 while serving in the Israel Defense Forces. He volunteered to serve in the army after graduating from Tenafly High School in 2022 and was stationed near the Gaza border during the attack.
