Several years and $5 million later, the new and improved Fire Station Two in Fernandina Beach is finally complete.
The Fernandina Beach Fire Department, city leaders, and members of the community gathered Saturday to celebrate the grand opening of a long-overdue project.

“This project’s been in the makings for several years, we planned it,” Interim Deputy Fire Chief of Fernandina Beach Fino Murallo said. “We’ve been working in conjunction with the airport, make sureit’ss in compliance with certain FAA requirements.”
