BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — A man. who North Carolina deputies said is a Florida doctor, faces charges for stealing donations and other items from people impacted by Hurricane Helene, officials said Monday.
Matt Marshall with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said Mark Anthony Smith, a licensed doctor from Jacksonville, Florida, is charged with a long list of crimes after his arrest on Oct. 25.
