EMERALD ISLE, N.C. (WITN) – The brown runoff floodwater that covers Doe Street, along with others in Emerald Isle, is being pumped into the ocean surf and sound after Monday’s storm.
State recreational water quality officials indicated that the water could be contaminated with waste from wildlife and pets, as well as oil and gasoline from parking lots, septic systems, and sewers.
