Forestville Man Located in Pomfret After Fleeing Scene of Jamestown Assault

A Forestville man is facing a bevy of charges following a domestic dispute that occurred in Jamestown late Sunday night. Jamestown Police were called to an address on the city’s north side shortly after 10:30 PM for a report of an assault in progress and found that 38-year-old Thomas Brewster allegedly unlawfully entered the residence and assaulted the victim by using brass knuckles before fleeing the scene. Officers say Brewster not only assaulted the victim, but also damaged property inside the residence in the presence of two small children. The victim was taken to UPMC Chautauqua for injuries. Approximately 90 minutes after the alleged assault, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Fredonia Police located Brewster’s vehicle in the Town of Pomfret and pulled it over for a violation. Brewster allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and had to be forcibly removed. After he was taken into custody, Brewster was allegedly found to be intoxicated.

Brewster has been charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of 1st-degree burglary, 2nd-degree assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and 4th-degree criminal mischief in connection with the domestic incident. He was also charged with felony DWI, 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a vehicle without ignition interlock, inadequate muffler, and uninspected motor vehicle stemming from the traffic stop. Brewster was transported to the Jamestown Police Department for processing and is currently being held in the Chautauqua County Jail. He will appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date…
