Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a state of emergency for 12 counties in New York State — including Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Erie counties — as those areas are set to receive multiple feet of lake effect snow. Areas east of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario could see two to three feet of snow along with strong wind gusts of 30-45 MPH beginning Wednesday night and continuing through Saturday.
