Lake effect snow dumped several inches of snow in the southern part of Chautauqua County early Wednesday morning – though life moved on as normal for most.
Lake effect snow is expected to last into this morning, according to the National Weather Service. The current forecast predicts 1 to 2 inches of snow Thursday into the weekendwith temperatures in the 20s, with only a chance of snow expected Friday morning.
Snowfalls on Wednesday ranged from around six and a half new inches in Dunkirk, with an eight inch depth overall to 6.2 inches in Jamestown with a 10 inch depth overall, according to the National Weather Service as of Wednesday afternoon.
