ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford musician and Rockford Area Venues & Entertainment Authority (RAVE) board member Dan McMahon has died after a battle with cancer.
McMahon, 41, was guitarist for the musical group Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts and co-composed (with Nielsen) the score for the 2009 Academy Award-winning Best Documentary Feature Undefeated .
He also played with former Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos & the Monday Night Band, and contributed to dozens of albums in a professional career than spanned nearly 20 years…
