BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — The NYPD’s Community Baby Shower in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, provided vital support to local families on Friday morning. The event, part of the NYPD’s Community Baby Shower Citywide 5 Borough Tour, aimed to assist mothers and expectant families with essential items and access to city services.
Held at the Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Community Center, the shower offered a range of necessities including diapers, strollers, and clothing. Additionally, families were connected with various services, such as CPR lessons provided by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

One attendee, Racquel Moore, won a much-needed high chair for her 18-month-old son, Trevor, in a raffle. In an amusing coincidence, her winning number was 911. “My number was 911 and they could have got me on speed dial,” Moore said, laughing at the irony of winning with the emergency number at an NYPD-sponsored event.
Michelle Gall, another mother at the event, appreciated the CPR training offered. “I have a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old. Also have a program for young people. So I always want to make sure that if there are any scenarios, choking or issues why they’re not breathing, that I can help,” she explained…
