Police: Couple in their 80s beaten during home invasion robbery in Union Township

A couple in their 80s was beaten and robbed while in their home, according to Union Township police. Police say the suspects stole the couple’s Audi that was parked in the driveway at around 7:30 a.m. Friday. Officials say the couple was eating breakfast and waiting for their granddaughter to be dropped off. When the wife opened the front door, she saw men dressed in black from head to toe on her front porch, according to officials. The victim’s daughter, who wants her family to remain anonymous, says her mom hit the suspects with a newspaper, telling them to get out of the house. “They were thinking they are fighting for their lives because people are trying to break into their house…She argued with them right there. And in her screaming and arguing with them, my father came to the front door,” the daughter said. “My father stayed fighting outside.
