Mounties Swept Up by Hot-Hitting Tornadoes

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — On Tuesday, the Mount Aloysius Women’s Volleyball team went on the road, as they traveled to Geneva to take on the Golden Tornadoes. While the Mounties started out hitting well, Geneva was even hotter and downed the Mounties in straight sets.

The first set was a back and forth affair in the early going. The two teams stayed within two points of each other until Geneva grabbed a 16-13 lead. The Mounties were unable to counter the momentum, as the Tornadoes outscored the Mounties 9-4 to win the set decisively, 25-18.

In the second set, it started out identical to the first, with Geneva grabbing the first, three-point lead, at 16-13. However, the Mounties did not go away easily this time, as three points was the biggest advantage in the set. Mount Aloysius got six kills down the stretch, including three from . Ultimately, the Tornadoes held off the visitors, taking the second set, 25-23…
