JONESBORO, Ark. — A man found himself facing charges after he was alleged to have battered a victim over the age of 60 this week in Jonesboro.
According to the probable cause affidavit, at 3:15 a.m. on Dec. 15, officers with the Jonesboro Police Department responded to the 800 block of French Street in reference to a burglary in progress. Officers met with Glen Bowers, who claimed that the alleged victim was attempting to break into his residence. Bowers said he confronted the victim, tackled him, and began to fight him. He then made the victim wait in his residence until police arrived.
A different story was presented by the victim, who told police he walked up to the residence to return a phone for Bowers’ girlfriend. That’s when he said Bowers began striking him with a metal pole, forcing him inside the residence.
