LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT/TBP) – Arkansas’ tourism industry continues to be a revenue maker for the state.

According to a study by the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism, $9.9 billion was added to the state’s economy and an estimated 50.7 million people visited the state in 2023. That’s up 17.1% compared with 2022 visitors, content partner Talk Business and Politics reported.

The highest spending categories by visitors in 2013 were transportation, food, and lodging. The study stated transportation accounted for the largest share of overall visit spending with 30% of the total or $ billion. Food purchases account for 28% share and lodging at 17% share…
