A 14-year-old Palm Beach Lakes High School student is now facing a felony count following an incident where an 11-year-old boy was shot in the leg. The West Palm Beach Police Department confirmed the arrest took place on school grounds after an investigation linked the teen to the shooting that occurred on Monday, as reported by CBS12.

On the day of the shooting, an 11-year-old boy sitting on a couch in a West Palm Beach home was hit by a bullet from across the room, prompting another boy to call 911 for help. Paramedics took the injured child to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was released later the same day.

Not only did this incident lead to the arrest of the 14-year-old, but also a 12-year-old was taken into custody on the night of the shooting. It was revealed by police that this second young individual brought two handguns to the location, apparently with the intent to sell them to the teens present.
