Warmer temps on way, after coldest day of winter so far. But new cold front coming, says NWS

Following the coldest temperatures of the winter recorded Thursday morning on the Treasure Coast, a meteorologist said “another chilly morning” was expected Friday followed by a brief warming trend.

The coldest temperatures, so far, were recorded in Vero Beach and Fort Pierce at 40 and 38 degrees, respectively. Wind chill values made it feel like 34 degrees in those areas, said meteorologist Megan Tollefsen, with the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Melbourne.

“These are actually the coldest temperatures we’ve (seen) so far for this dry season,” she said…
