RSO Spotlight: Native American Student Organization embraces and spreads awareness about indigenous culture

November is National Native American Heritage Month, but Western Michigan University’s Native American Student Organization (NASO) meets all year round.

Created for students of Native American heritage as well as students who simply wish to learn more about Native American culture, NASO aims to educate about and celebrate indigenous culture, according to NASO President Shabanaa Bush.

“The Native American Student Organization is for Native students, by Native students,” Bush said. “But we expand that to be for anybody that appreciates Native culture, if they want to learn about it or explore it.”…
