Winter weather advisory affecting 8 Michigan counties Monday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 2:53 p.m. EST on Sunday valid for Monday between 7 a.m. EST and 7 p.m. EST for Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties.

The weather service states, “Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes,” describes the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
