Flathead Warming Center provides resources during cold temperatures

KALISPELL, Mont. — Many parts of Montana are expecting extremely low temperatures in the coming days. The Flathead Warming Center is preparing to serve as a resource for residents looking to escape the cold.

Officials with the Warming Center want to remind the community they are available as a resource during the winter months and are relieved to be open and provide a safe space for residents in need.

“Know that we’re going to treat them with dignity, and we’re going to help them to get through that very first time of coming indoors,” said Tonya Horn, executive director of the Flathead Warming Center. “We want our community to come in the door because the weather does look like it’s going to get dangerously cold, and come and see how we can help you.”…
