NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Ahead of National Gumbo Day on Saturday, Oct. 12, and to welcome the start of soup season now upon us this fall, Commander’s Palace has just the food options to enjoy the delicious Creole soup from restaurant.

Those looking to enjoy Executive Chef Meg Bickford’s signature New Haute Creole cuisine at home can select from the restaurant’s Goldbelly offerings. The gumbo options include a selection of:

  • Legendary Seafood Gumbo: This stew combines a dark roux with a trinity of okra, green bell pepper and celery, three different seafood stocks, and a blend of Creole herbs and spices. A slow cooking process allows flavors to beautifully meld together. The soup is portioned to serve six to eight people.
  • Chicken and Andouille Gumbo: This meat version features chicken and pork sausage, chicken stock, and is complimented by a trio of vegetables and a rich blend of spices and herbs. Slow cooked to perfection, the soup is portioned to serve six to eight people.
  • Legendary Favorites Soup Sample – 3 Pack: Try both of Commander’s Palace’s gumbos, seafood and chicken and andouille, and their famous Turtle Soup. This package of the three soups is portioned to serve eight to twelve people.
  • Legendary Seafood Gumbo and Turtle Soup: Enjoy two of the soups that helped Commander’s Palace become the iconic restaurant that it is today. This package of both soups is portioned to serve six to eight people.

Each soup is carefully packed with frozen ice packs to maintain freshness and can be stored in the freezer for an extended period. Two loaves of Garlic Bread can be added for an additional charge and comes with 12 pieces per order, serving 2-3…
