Don’t chase Scrim! Rescuer fears for legendary dog’s safety on harsh New Orleans streets

Michelle Cheramie, the owner of pet adoption agency Zeus’ Rescues, had Scrim in her sights on Sunday morning. The small, runaway dog was a sitting duck as he wandered the tall grass near the Tree of Life in Audubon Park.

But before Cheramie was able to squeeze the trigger of her tranquilizer gun, a passerby spooked the wary pooch, and the chase was on. Again!

For almost two hours, Scrim sprinted through his new Uptown territory, from Laurel Street to Magazine Street to St. Charles Avenue, and all points between. On the days before, Scrim was spotted on the upper reaches of Tchoupitoulas Street and the Hollygrove neighborhood…
