GREENSBORO, N.C. — One good Samaritan is collecting donations from the Triad with the help of his daughter and granddaughters to bring them toAshe County, which is still recovering from Hurricane Helene. The humble hero, who doesn’t want to be named, has made several trips between Greensboro and his county to collect supplies for neighbors who need it most.
His daughter, Michelle Lee, told us her dad saved two neighbors, their dog and their cat after flooding nearly engulfed their home. It took more than 24 hours before she heard from him, but she knew he was safe and likely helping others.
“Once I was able to hear from my dad, he came down, and we loaded his truck up and immediately turned around and took it up to Ashe County to the fire department and he said, ‘This is great, I need more,'” Lee said.
