Women’s Soccer Taken Down by Methodist 2-0 in Conference Semi-Finals

Fayetteville, NC – Greensboro women’s soccer played in the USA South Conference semi-finals against Methodist on Wednesday night, and fell 2-0 as their season comes to an end.

It was strong season for Greensboro, winning 11 games and going 7-2 in conference play. Senior Amery Skinner was named USA South Player of the Year earlier in the week, along with earning first team all-conference honors. The Pride had a total of four players named to the USA South all-conference first or second team.

Greensboro was on a seven game win streak heading into the semi-finals match, but the Monarchs got on the board early in this one and were able to keep the Pride out of the net despite a few opportunities. Methodist added an insurance goal in the 76th minute to go up 2-0. Despite the loss, Greensboro won at least 10 games for the second straight season along with reaching the conference semi-finals for the third straight year. Their 7 wins in conference play was their most since 2018…
