Johnson City’s Lakeside Concert Series Returns, Free Music and Family Fun at Winged Deer Park

Summer’s about to get a soundtrack in Johnson City — the Lakeside Concert Series is back on the calendar, folks. Mark it down: every Thursday from May 29 through June 26, you can sprawl on the lawns of Winged Deer Park and soak in some local tunes. This annual serenade by the water, brought to you by Parks and Recreation and presented this year by the ever omnipresent Xfinity, offers up free melodies from 7 to 9 p.m., cementing itself as a seasonal staple.

“We are excited to announce the dates of our Lakeside Concert Series and have Xfinity come on board as the presenting sponsor,” David Compton, Parks and Recreation’s Community Engagement Specialist, said in a statement by Johnson City which is really no surprise given that the promise of good music, picnic blankets and a summer vibe tends to pull the community together like kids to an ice cream truck. Starting Monday, those curious about the lineup can play the refreshing game on social media as acts are announced daily on the department’s feeds.
