GRAY — The Volunteer Falcons ran away with the Region 1-A/AA boys cross country title on Monday, Oct. 28, at Daniel Boone High School to earn their fourth straight trip to the TSSAA state meet next week in Hendersonville.
Greeneville’s Trey Bailey won the individual title with a time of 16:39.52. Volunteer’s Roman Borghetti-Metz used a burst of speed to pass teammate Kevin McCurry on the final hill and finish as the Region 1-A/AA runner-up for the second year in a row with a time of 17:17.40.
