Seminole County Cyclist Dies After Hit-And-Run, Driver Arrested and Faces Upgraded Charges

A hit-and-run incident in Seminole County last Friday has had a tragic end, as a 62-year-old cyclist succumbed to his injuries the following day after being struck by a driver, who was later arrested and faces charges. As reported by ClickOrlando, the Florida Highway Patrol detailed that Kyle Izbicky, 28, was driving the Ford F-150 that hit the cyclist at the intersection of Red Bug Lake Road and Creeks Bend Drive around 3:16 p.m. and then failed to stay on the scene.

According to FHP, the cyclist was maneuvering west on the sidewalk before entering the marked crosswalk when Izbicky’s truck did not yield to the right of way and struck the cyclist. After the crash, Izbicky immediately fled, driving east on Red Bug Lake Road, but was pursued by a witness who provided information to law enforcement, as FOX 35 Orlando reported. Efforts by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office led to the discovery of the abandoned truck in a nearby parking lot.
