KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A goal in the 60th minute from Sammi Woods proved to be the difference on Thursday, as Tennessee defeated Ole Miss 2-1 in its SEC opener.

Kate Runyon got the scoring started with a goal in the 21st minute, which was immediately answered by an Ole Miss score. The goal was the first Tennessee allowed since August 15.
