APD shoplifting blitz operations lead to 19 arrests and $3,500 in stolen goods recovered

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police arrested more than a dozen suspects in three shoplifting and theft crackdowns earlier this month in North Austin.

During the week of December 15, officers with the Austin Police Department North Metro Tactical Response Unit collaborated with local retailers and the APD North Criminal Investigations Division to conduct the shoplifting blitz operations and recovered and returned nearly $3,500 worth of stolen merchandise and three stolen vehicles.
